Brown is the second disc jockey to pass away from the morning radio show in recent years. In 2007, Shawn “Mic Lord” Austin died suddenly.
A 2004 Daily Press report says that Brown had worked as a dee-jay in the Hampton Roads area before coming to the airwaves. In 2004 Brown along with co-host Horace ” Big B ” Belcher moved to the morning slot on the station. Brown was a graduate of Denbigh High School and lived in Newport News.
The radio station’s Facebook page had received several hundred posts from listeners extending condolences to Brown’s family. A link was posted to the Boyz II Men song “It’s so Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday.”
