300-Crores-riding-on-SRK-Shahrukh-Khan-2011

After Bollywood Flicks like Kites and Raavan, which were high on star quotient, failed to do well at the expectant box office this year, all eyes are now on Bollywood’s King Shahrukh Khan. According to Bollywood critics, A whopping amount of Rs 300 crore is riding on his shoulders! The buzz in the trade is that Reliance Big Pictures has bought the rights.

A leading distributor says, “Shah Rukh rocks. He is still one of the top three stars in this country. His film guarantees good returns. Yes, Reliance Big Pictures has bought Don 2 for an amount which is definitely more than Rs 100 crore. But I think that Shah Rukh’s deal with Eros International on Ra.One could be a funding proposal, which implies that Shah Rukh can still sell the film to other buyers.”

Phew! That’s a lot of money riding on one single man, imagine the pressure!

Band Baaja Baaraat Vs No Problem

For Diwali this year we had two comedies Golmaal 2 and Action Replayy on display. One of them had to, and did, tank.

It therefore comes as no surprise to know that the next battle of the comedies between Yashraj Films' Band Baaja Baaraat featuring Anushka Sharma with newbie Ranvir Singh and Anees Bazmee's star-studded comedy No Problem just might be stymied before its too late. Yashraj, however are unwilling to budge. They consider the second week of December lucky for their films. Anees Bazmee on the other hand, doesn't believe in luck.

Says the hyper-active director (currently working round-the-clock shooting his film Ready in the daytime and editing No Problem in the night), "I don't believe in lucky dates. But I do believe in commitments. We had decided to release No Problem on 10 December long ago. I have three releases next year (Thank You, It's My Life and Ready). So I needed to get No Problem out of the way this year. We worked at breakneck speed to finish No Problem and announced our release date months ago. It was only later that I heard Band Baaja Baaraat is coming on the same date." Anees admits he isn't happy with the clash. "It's never advisable to bring two big films on the same day. If anyone, then they should move because we locked in the date first. But I think Yashraj is superstitious about the second week of December because their Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi released during the same week in 2008 (with the same heroine) and was a hit."

Anees says he's beyond luck factors. "When my producer Vipul Shah decided to add an extra n in 'king' for Singh Is Kinng I told him please add one more 'n' if it helps the box-office. It's the product that matters. I know we've made a fabulously funny film in No Problem. I am sure Band Baaja Baaraat is also a terrific film. If a clash is not avoidable then I'll pray for both films."

Will Yashraj blink first?

When contacted Yashraj's official spokesperson said, "No there is no postponement. Band Baaja Baaraat is coming with all the baaraati's (sic.) on 10th Dec 2010. I am sure there is space for both of us."

Most-Popular-Word-Katrina-Kaif

When it comes to online, Bollywood beauties seems to overshadow politics and cricket, with heart throb Katrina Kaif emerging as the most popular news maker this year, according to a popular search engine. In these times of political scams and cricket controversies, Bollywood continues to remain the online flavour, with cine star Katrina Kaif topping the chart of most popular internet search this year.

Surpassing news search related to politics, current affairs, cricket and finance, Kaif has been named “Newsmaker of the Year” for both “professional and personal reasons”. Among the most popular online, cricket maestro Sachin Tendulkar — who broke many records this year — is next only to Kaif.

The search engine noted that Kaif`s acclaimed performance in the film `Rajneeti`, a mystery stomach ailment and break-up with long time beau Salman Khan, among others, made her a popular news maker. According to the leading portal, online activities this year was dominated by the public`s transfixion with a fair share of controversies and comebacks, triumphs and disasters, clashes of personalities and clashes of interests.

Apart from Bollywood and cricket - that was dominated by the Indian Premier League - political controversies, CWG and sex scandals too were most searched for. Right from Shashi Tharoor losing his Minister job to teams being barred from the tournament, IPL created much buzz online.

SRK-and-Aamir-Together?

Shahrukh is finding it difficult to choose between profession and a friend like Karan Johar. There were reports in the media some time back that Karan Johar might end up doing the biggest casting coup of Bollywood by bringing the arch rivals Shahrukh and Aamir together in one of his mega project.

Everybody denied that but gave a breather by saying that they may work together if something really exciting comes up.

Now we come to know from our trusted insiders that the project is waiting a yes with a big ‘Y’ from the Bollywood Baadshah Shahrukh Khan and psssssssssst… Aamir has agreed…!

Unbelievable..! It’s always the other way round for the perfectionist Aamir who says yes after giving it a deep thought but here sources claim that Aamir has agreed for the Karan Johar project with Shahrukh.

Sources close to Shahrukh claim that SRK wants to ensure that the movie gives fair and equal chance to the super khans of Bollywood Shahrukh and Aamir so that both of their fans don’t feel disappointed.

Aamir’s involvement in his projects is well known and SRK has full faith in his close buddy Karan Johar who is instrumental in King Khan’s rising stardom post DDLJ (Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge) days.

SRK doesn’t want any involvement. Shahrukh’s doubts are fair but Aamir’s nod is quite surprising. Sources claim it’s not Aamir’s professionalism alone it’s the ‘I’ factor for the yes from mamujan. Imran and Karan are in good terms since ‘I Hate Luv Storys’.

Guys.. If you still think that this is just a gossip then remember the fact that Karan Johar has the record of bringing the titans of

Bollywood together in his films. For example KKKG (Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham) which starred Big B, Shahrukh, Jaya Bachchan, Kajol, Hrithik Roshan and Kareena. In KANK (Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna) he got Big B, Shahrukh, Abhishek with Rani and Preity Zinta…

So Karan can orchestra this casting coup and the mighty khans Shahrukh and Aamir will come together if the King Khan bows down and says Yes.

Sallu-in-Farah-next-SRK?

In a reality show, Farah Khan once expressed her desire to make a film with Salman Khan and now the time has come to prove her words. Very soon Farah Khan would direct Salman Khan in her film. After Farah wrap up with ‘Tees Maar Khan’, she would start working on her new project with her new found friend.

On being asked about her new found interest in Salman, Farah said, “Well, this has been in the pipe line for long but now I feel the time has come where I need to do something seriously about it. And imagine the outcome of two mad people getting together. I think I`m mad and Salman is madder. After I finish with TMK, I am considering working on our plans to doing a film together.”

Who will play the lead heroine opposite Salman is yet to be decided but it is confirmed that Farah Khan and Shahrukh Khan will never become friends.

Note that In the chat show, ‘Koffee With Karan’, Shahrukh Khan made a solo appearance and took the opportunity to apologize his friends, Farah Khan and Salman Khan. In his apologizing statement, he accepted, "if Farah, Salman were not talking to him, it was probably his fault".

South Africa v Pakistan complete Fixtures Series 2010 Fixtures (All timings are mentioned in GMT+05:30)
Series Facts

October 26 and 27, Abu Dhabi
Start time 20:00 (16:30 GMT)

Pakistan's lead-up to this tour can be described as chaotic at best. While most major teams are finalising their preparations for the World Cup, Pakistan cricket's internal discord continues to divert attention off the field. The captain and coach have complained of not being consulted over team selection, the board has warned the captain and defended not seeking the coach's opinion, while former cricketers have hit out at the rift between players and the board. Such negativity augurs badly for a team still attempting to recover from the spot-fixing controversy and working towards restoring faith in its fans.
Amid the negativity, however, there are a few things to look forward to. Discarded for most of the year, Misbah-ul-Haq has been catapulted into the role of Test captain and won his place back in the limited-overs squads as well. Things have come a full circle for Younis Khan, who, after being banned indefinitely by the board for disciplinary reasons, has been drafted back in the side.

The return of experienced heads has strengthened the batting department. But the bowling, shorn of two quality seamers who have been provisionally suspended by the ICC, will look to Umar Gul for leadership. The series kicks off with a couple of Twenty20 internationals, and Pakistan, who have been short of match practice and possibly struggling for focus, could just be facing a better team. Their captain, Shahid Afridi, however was not too concerned by the absence of Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir. "We know we are without two of our best bowlers, but we still have ample talent to counter South Africa who are a very good side in the shorter form of the game."

South Africa have been spared the distractions. They have kick-started their preparations for the World Cup by easily overcoming Zimbabwe at home. South Africa's batting, led by Hashim Amla, has been prolific and they will welcome back Dale Steyn and Jacques Kallis, who were rested against Zimbabwe. Graeme Smith has said that controversies may not necessarily have a bearing on Pakistan's performance but, with a strong and stable side at their disposal, South Africa have an excellent chance of upstaging their opponents in their home away from home.

Form guide

South Africa: WWWWL
Watch out for...

Misbah-ul-Haq: He last represented Pakistan in the World Twenty20 this year and it will be interesting to see how he handles the pressure of an international return, with the burden of a Test captaincy in the back of his mind. Lucrative returns in domestic cricket, experience and his reputation as a solid middle-order batsman have prompted the Pakistan board to repose faith in his abilities, especially in the absence of Mohammad Yousuf's stability in the middle order.
David Miller: A hard-hitting middle-order batsman, Miller has already made an impression in international cricket with strike-rates of 146.80 and 132.29 in one-dayers and Twenty20s respectively. The South Africa selectors will consider him a potential World Cup candidate, and after facing significantly weaker opponents like West Indies and Zimbabwe, Miller faces his first major challenge against a competitive albeit depleted Pakistan attack.

Team news

It will be interesting to see if South Africa include all the players they rested against Zimbabwe, for the tour opener. Morne Morkel injured his ankle early in the Zimbabwe series and missed a few games. Will he be brought back too?
South Africa (possible): 1 Graeme Smith, 2 Loots Bosman, 3 Jacques Kallis, 4 Colin Ingram, 5 AB de Villiers (wk), 6 JP Duminy, 7 David Miller, 8 Albie Morkel, 9 Johan Botha (capt), 10 Robin Peterson, 11 Dale Steyn.

Gul and Shoaib Akhtar will lead the attack with Abdul Razzaq and offspinner Saeed Ajmal as the support options. In the absence of Kamran Akmal, Zulqarnain Haider takes over wicketkeeping duties while Imran Farhat is likely to open with Shahzaib Hasan.

Pakistan (possible): 1 Imran Farhat, 2 Shahzaib Hasan, 3 Umar Akmal, 4 Fawad Alam, 5 Misbah-ul-Haq, 6 Shahid Afridi (capt), 7 Abdul Razzaq, 8 Zulqarnain Haider (wk), 9 Umar Gul, 10 Shoaib Akhtar, 11 Saeed Ajmal.

Stats and trivia
The Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi will be hosting its first Twenty20 international between two Test-playing nations. The two matches that have been played here - Afghanistan v Scotland and Kenya v Netherlands - were quite low-scoring, with an average score of 127.75.
Two of the three Twenty20 matches played between the teams have come in the World Twenty20, in 2009 and 2010, both won by Pakistan. South Africa won the first game between the two sides, in 2007.
Quotes
"Playing Pakistan is always a great challenge and they knocked us out in two major Twenty20 matches."
Johan Botha has not forgotten his side's reversals against Pakistan in two consecutive World Twenty20s
"My players are professional and have put all the controversy behind them."
Shahid Afridi wants to focus on the task ahead

One More Story Like Parents:
DECATUR - Parent-teacher conferences are coming up soon.
Depending on the child and how the first quarter has gone, that realization might make the youngsters tremble with dread or puff up with pride. But often parents aren't much more thrilled with the idea.
The trick to a good meeting with your child's teacher is preparation.
"We have to be honest with one another, so that we keep the best interest of the child first," said Sandy Murray, a teacher at Holy Family School.
She can't know what's going on at home, good or bad, if the parents don't confide in her, and the parents won't know what's really going on at school if she doesn't talk to them. Teachers and parents have to work as a team to ensure a child gets the best education possible, and see that problems are addressed cooperatively.
It's not a war, with parents on one side and teacher on the other.
"There must be a working relationship between the school and home," said teacher Cinda Farris. "Since children learn differently, this gives the teacher and parent the opportunity to discover what is most successful in helping a student learn to his or her potential."
Teachers will have test scores and grades and behavior reports to discuss with parents, but the parents should have their own list of things to talk about.
"A parent should come prepared to ask how they can further help students in weak areas as well as how to enrich a student in their strong areas," said Nikki Manning, who teaches fourth grade at Argenta-Oreana Elementary School.
A parent may have a concern that the teacher is not aware is an issue, Manning said.
When a child has stresses at home - a sick grandparent, a parent's lost job, the loss of a pet, outside activities or hobbies that tire the child or distract him - the teacher needs to know.
"Communication between parents and teachers is very important," she said. "Teachers need to make every effort to make sure that a parent feels free to bring up concerns and questions any time of year."
Conferences don't allow much time, agreed Heather Reed, who also teaches at Argenta-Oreana.
"I let parents know from the beginning of the year how to reach me," Reed said. "I am willing to meet with parents when it's most convenient for them. Sometimes that means staying late and sometimes that means coming in early."
She gives parents the school number, her school and personal e-mail addresses, and sends home a weekly newsletter.
"You have to (be accessible)," she said. "That's the only way to have a successful school year, with the parents and teacher and student working together."
Debby Hawkins, a teacher at Illiopolis Elementary School, said parents should send a note ahead of time if they have questions that might require the teacher to do some research. Write down what you want to ask so you don't forget, and if both parents can't attend, take questions along from the absent parent, too.
During the conference, she said, listen to the teacher's point before criticizing, and keep emotions under control. Be open-minded to suggestions.
And consider things like whether your child has friends at school, and what you can do to help if your child is struggling academically or socially. If the child and teacher, or parent and teacher, don't get along, talk about ways to correct that.
Holy Family teacher Morgan Schrock said parents should stay in touch between conferences for best results.
"I always call (parents) with any concerns and encourage parents to stop in before and after school and ask questions," Schrock said.

The Twenty20 game has being played by County cricket sides in England before and it proved to be a big success. The tournament is organised by ICC, the International Cricket Council. All of the test playing nations will compete in the World Cup, plus qualifiers. In total there will be 12 teams competing in the competition. 10 test nation sides and two that qualify through the World Cricket League event in January and February. The World Cup will last for a total of nine days. The ten test playing nation teams that will compete in the World Cup are: England, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lankia, Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, the West Indies and Zimbabwe. Scotland and Kenya both qualified through the qualification stage.
This is how the games are broken down-
Group A- South Africa, the West Indies and Bangladesh
Group B- Australia, England and Zimbabwe
Group C- New Zealand, Sri Lanka and Kenya
Group D- Pakistan, India and Scotland
Each teams in the groups will play each other once and the top two teams in each group will go through to the last eight. All live Twenty20 World Cup cricket can be seen on our website via out live streaming of the games as they are played.
Qualification for the Twenty20 World Cup took place in January and February. The national teams without test status play in an ICC World Cricket League that is a series of one day games. The top two teams from the qualifiers will get entry into the Twenty20 World Cup.
The nation that is hosting the tournament, which takes place every two years, automatically qualifies. The executive committee vote on who they want to host each Twenty20 tournament. The decision is based on the nations that want to host the tournament. South Africa will host the tournament this year, England in 2009, Sri Lanka in 2012 and Bangladesh in 2014.
The Twenty20 game was reported to have being invented and supported by county clubs in England. A Twenty20 match between Middlesex and Surry saw the highest attendance for a cricket match for over 50 years in England. It has now spread throughout the World and lots of countries started to play exhibition matches.
This year is the first ever Twenty20 World Cup tournament. This is a start of a new era. The Twenty20 games are being announced by almost every domestic cricket teams in the world. Twenty20 cricket games such as the tournament in New Zealand, the Twenty20 cup in England, the Twenty20 Big Bash in Australia have all being huge successes to the cricketing world. It is expected to be around for a long time, due to the fact that the tournament is fun and action packed. It is believed that Twenty20 cricket is set to transform the cricketing world. It is replacing the boring, dull world of test match cricket which was slowly replaced by ODI matches. 20-20 cricket is now replacing both of these. The 20-20 World Cup is a chance for doubters of the tournament to see why it has taken the cricketing world by storm and hopefully it will mean more success for the sport.
The Twenty20 matches are a chance for batsmen to show off what they can do. The matches last for one day and at the end of the day there has to be a winner. Each team has 20 over's to score as many runs as possible, hence why it is called Twenty20. Whereas One Day International matches are played with 50 over's each, Twenty20 is designed to have short innings so that teams have to play attacking, exciting and hit big shots. Each batsman therefore has a chance to make a name for them and their team. The game also means that batsmen have less pressure to stay at the crease for longer, as there are only 20 over's to play by each side and they are expected to hit big shots and take a chance to get the biggest score possible. All the action from South Africa can be seen with 20-Twenty cricket world cup live stream from this site.
In this year's tournament some of the big name players will be competing to win the first ever Twenty20 World Cup. See who does it by watching live online action of the tournament. One player who you might not be able to see in the tournament is Muttiah Muralitharan, who has stated his intentions to play as many games as possible for Lancashire. One batsman who always provides crowds and fans of excitement is Kevin Pietersen. England's best batsman and ODI number one ranked batsman will hopefully carry the form he has from the test matches against West Indies into the 20-20 World Cup 2007 and provide us with some big hits and lots of boundaries. It is even bigger for him as he is a South African, but plays for England. It will be his chance to show the South Africans, what they missed out on. It is not only Kevin Pietersen who will provide the crowds with excitement. There are players such as Ricky Ponting, Adam Gilchrist, Paul Collingwood, Sachin Tendulkar and Mohammad Yousuf who have the capability to hit big3. It is not only the batsman who will be hoping to cause some excitement. Bowlers can make a name for themselves, by taking as many wickets as possible in 20 over's. Some exciting bowlers for you to look out for are Shaun Pollock, Mohammad Asif, Andrew Flintoff, Monty Panesar and S.L. Malinga.
Just like in the 2007 World Cup, Australia are favorites to be the winners. But with it being a tournament where batsman can be unpredictable there are no certain favorites. Teams like Sri Lanka, who lost out in the final of the World Cup, and South Africa will also be hoping to reach the final and prove they are still good sides and can compete. Unlike the World Cup, the Twenty20 is a lot more interesting than the World Cup. There will be lots more action via our Twenty20 cricket world cup live stream for every game in the tournament.

India vs Australia Live online
Catch up on all the live action from one of the most eagerly awaited India Australia series in recent times here at our website, the one stop destination for all your cricketing needs. India travel down under to Australia in a rich vein of form having out after comprehensively outplaying arch-rivals Pakistan in both test and one dayers at home recently. The Men in Blue have risen like a phoenix from the ashes after a dismal World Cup campaign and an inspired run powered by the big hitting of Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh coupled with the emergence of a new young aggressive pace bowling line up has seen India win away against South Africa, England and pick up the coveted ICC 20-20 championship in a span for three months.
India now travels down under with a sense of optimism and hope that would have been tough to believe a year back when Indian cricket team was getting battered down at South Africa. Australia's one day side remains as strong as ever but their test line up has weakened considerably after the retirement of Justin Langer, Shane Warne and Glen Mcgrath. The Indian batting line up slaughtered an Australian lineup sans Glenn Mcgrath and Warne in the 1-1 draw in their last Australian visit four years back and they would be hoping that their new found pace battery of SreeSanth, Rp Singh and Zaheer Khan and the guile of Anil Kumble coupled with one of the strongest middle order batting lineups would inflict a first series defeat for Australia at home in a over an decade.

Indian-Origin School Girl Anysha Panesar is America's Teen Queen

LONDON: Anysha Panesar, a 16-year-old Indian-origin teenager has been crowned America's Perfect Teen. The only problem is she is British.

The teenager from Wales beat a host of American beauties to win the contest while on holiday in Florida and it has not gone down well with the losing candidates.

Parents of the American girls have protested to the organisers of the pageant, which has a USD 2,000 first prize, and an USD 18,000 scholarship to train as a TV broadcaster, reported Daily Mail online.

But Anysha has hit back, arguing the outcry is just sour grapes.

"Some people did say I shouldn't have won because I'm British. But really I think the people who said that just said it because they didn't win," said the brunette beauty.

Anysha entered the teenage beauty pageant while at the family holiday home in Kissimmee, Florida.

The 'America's Perfect Teen' contest, which included girls as young as 13, has a big following in the States.

But Anysha was stunned to beat the other 30 contestants from across US.

"My mum was sitting there crying her eyes out and my dad didn't know what to do with himself. My grandparents were on the phone, they were all so proud," said Anysha.

Anysha lives with her family in the village of Llangan in Vale of Glamorgan and is now back in classes at Howells School in Cardiff.

Anysha won the scholarship to learn broadcasting in the US, which she plans to take up after her A-levels.

She is also in talks to have her own TV show about her year as 'America's Perfect Teen'.

They had been seeing each other for a long time and was spotted at award-shows and public performances but they never made enough of a gesture for people to comprehend about their love for each other. The couple’s love shack was purely stylish and elegant at the same time. It was the deluxe suite in a boutique hotel on Nungambakkam High Road. Such a spacious and sensous suit with 785 sq.ft of sheer luxury indeed inspired romance and love for both of them.

There were juicy rumors about this couple before they publicly confessed their status. But the couple was intelligent and smart enough to brush aside all such news. They were seen dramatically enough at the Filmfare Awards night this year but remain silent about any news which people wanted to create out of such appearance.

Mahesh had experienced a divorce with his wife, Shvetha Jaishankar, with whom he remained for seven long years. The First Day of Fall 2010 Only Days Away

Autumn is almost here, and that means winter cannot be very far behind. The first day of fall 2010 is actually only days away. The date has been fixed officially on 22nd September.
Though known as autumn all around the world, America is used to call this season the “fall”. It is one of most awaited seasons in the country. The first day of fall 2010 is going to be heralded with a lot of joy by people as it signals the end of summer.
All the countries in the Northern Hemisphere such as United States, Canada and Europe, can expect the fall to start on 22nd September this year, Wednesday. The countries in the Southern Hemisphere such as Australia, Antarctica, South America and some parts of Africa, experienced their first day of fall in March.
The first day of fall 2010 also brings us closer to Halloween. Though fall marks a transition from hot to cold weather, it is not the case with every place. For instance, Florida, which has year- round warm weather, will not really see a drastic change in weather as most locations.
The fall will also bring with it the holiday season as hopes and expectations about Christmas start building. As fall starts, there will be little people will be thinking about other than what Christmas presents to buy and for whom. The first day of fall 2010 is also extra- special because it comes in the face of an economy that is experiencing slower growth than what was expected.
